Doctors from the regional hospital of Herat province visited Turkmenistan

From April 13 to 18, 2025, doctors from the regional hospital of Herat province visited Ashgabat.

During the visit, the Afghan delegation held meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and Turkmen doctors.

During the meeting, the parties paid special attention to issues of bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry and medical technologies. Afghan doctors discussed the possibility of exporting high-quality and affordable medicines produced at the joint Turkmen-Indian antibiotic plant in Turkmenistan to Afghanistan.

The parties also discussed the possibility of Turkmen manufacturers supplying medicines and medical equipment to Afghanistan. The Turkmen side provided information on the activities of enterprises producing pharmaceutical products and medical equipment, and expressed its readiness to expand cooperation with Afghanistan in this area

Afghan doctors expressed interest in deepening cooperation with Turkmenistan and emphasized the importance of exchanging experience to improve the healthcare systems of the two countries.
